Located in the district of Thrissur, and in the panchayath of Athirapally, Athirapally Waterfalls offers a breath-taking experience to those who visit it. Known as the ‘Niagara of India’, the falls is located on the Chalakudy River which originates in the Western Ghats. During the monsoon, the falls become more powerful, making you awe at the beauty of Mother Nature. The Vazhchal Falls is located not more than five kilometres from Athirapally Falls, and is another wonderful creation of Nature. One can get to the top of the falls by traversing amidst the bamboo trees, or take a narrow path down to the falls and feel the gust of wind that blows due to the falling water.

The location of the falls is such that you can visit various other places surrounding the area like adventure parks and kid’s theme parks, and also dams and wildlife sanctuary situated at Parambikulam. The falls is the best place for all the nature lovers. A jungle safari takes the tourists through variety of wildlife in the region, of which some are endangered.
